Back-to-School

Are you ready? Those beautiful, long summer days are getting shorter and families with school aged children are getting ready for the beginning of a new school year! Parents are shopping for the back-to-school supplies, families are traveling to fun vacation spots or celebrating with summer parties with friends making the best use of summer.

Schools are the life blood of our communities. Seeing our kids going to school may bring back fond memories of our favorite teachers, favorite subjects or sports teams that we represented.  We all have some fond memories from our school days treasured either in the form of class photos, academic awards or sports trophies.  As we continue to learn in many ways after formal schooling, we try our best to carve the right path of learning for our children. Our efforts are focused to shape their young lives in a positive and confident manner, providing encouragement and setting manageable goals that can be achieved by them. As we strive to help them succeed, planning and preparation are the key for an easy transition into the new school year.

Tips for back-to-school organization:

Shop early and have school supplies (checklist) ready

Practice early bed time for children, at least 1-2 weeks before school starts

Plan and shop for healthy lunches and snacks

De-clutter/ organize clothes, books, stationery before the new school year starts

Have Immunization records ready and medical/dental visits completed

Have an event calendar – form is less important than function.  Use a Paper calendar, iPhone app/ Tablet calendar to track important dates and events

Eating healthy, hydration and exercise are important for kids to stay focused and active during classroom learning or in the playground. Along with their favorite character backpacks and matching lunch boxes, why not give them a personalized water bottle with their name and favorite sports activity engraved on the water bottle. To get through the busy morning, active moms will appreciate their morning beverage in this ceramic coffee mug that can be personalized to represent  their favorite  activity  and matching hair color.
Most importantly, don’t forget to snap a picture of your child on the first day of the new school year!
